Veronika Patočková, born in Jihlava/Czech Republic in 1987, studied sociology and translation studies at Charles University in Prague. She has lived in Berlin since 2012, the same year she and Hamze Bytyçi founded RomaTrial e.V. Since then, she has been responsible for the conception, fundraising and management of various projects as project manager and treasurer. Since 2017 she has been managing the production of the Festival of Romani Film AKE DIKHEA?, in the same year she produced the short film JOŽKA while working at the Foundation Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe as a scientific expert in the field of remembrance of Sinti and Roma. In 2018, she was the executive producer of the 1st Roma Biennale, which took place under the title COME OUT NOW! at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, and in 2020 – 2021 she leads the production of the 2nd Roma Biennale WE ARE HERE! whose main setting is the public space. Since 2020, she has also been the director of the educational programme against Antigypsyism WIR SIND HIER!.
