Durmish Kjazim
Durmish Kjazim was born in 1983 in Skopje, Macedonia. In 2004, he graduated from the High School of Applied Arts in Lazar Lichenoski, Department of Sculpture, and in 2011 from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje in the class of Professor Zarko Baseski.
Durmish Kjazim comes from a Roma family from Skopje, he has been living in Belgium, Brussels since 2011. In his art, thoughts and feelings stimulate the inner leading to personal liberation, and awakening of the idea. Inspired by the Roma people and tradition, through which he portrays himself, by emotions, dynamics and passion, by the pictorial realism woven with symbolism. Through painting, he defends all stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination against Roma culture. He openly dedicates himself to his cultural roots, to the atmosphere that refers to childhood and the discrimination, and by devoting himself sincerely he transforms and defragments.
